Here we are in July! One of the most beautiful months to enjoy in New England. New England summer is in full swing and we are loving the ocean breezes, blooms aplenty, and the Americana charm. Summer here is truly special and we are ready to get our fill of clam bakes, days spent on the water, and early morning beach strolls.
We are gearing up for our 4th of July festivities here in Connecticut, and after that our Summer Travel Series really takes off! We have so many good things in store to share with you in the weeks ahead. One thing I love about living here is that you never run out of new places to explore. We have some forever favorites that we will be sharing, but also some really beautiful places that may not be on your radar just yet.
Here’s what we will be sharing the month of July…

NANTUCKET | If I had to choose only one place to have a summer vacation in New England—Nantucket would win every single time! It had me under its spell the first time I rounded Brant Point on the ferry. There is a kind of summer magic there that I have not felt anywhere else. Not that there aren’t other wonderful places to visit here in the summer, but Nantucket has that je ne sais quoi that makes you want to come back year after year. We will be staying at Woof Cottages, one of the properties in the White Elephant portfolio, since we are bringing our pup, Zoey. These cottages are pet-friendly and all right on the water at the Boat Basin. Such a great location.
WATCH HILL & WESTERLY | I think Rhode Island beaches are some of the prettiest in New England. They have the softest white sand and beautiful waves. Watch Hill has some beautiful ones and The Ocean House sits on one of them. The Ocean House is always so amazing to visit, what a gem of a property! I am excited to extend my travels to Westerly this trip too and check out a new inn and explore more of this region.
NEWPORT | Newport, Rhode Island is one of Topher’s favorite places in New England, and we will be heading there for a very special day on the water. We can’t wait to share this private sailing experience with you and how you can get yourself out on the water in New England this summer!
MYSTIC | Mystic, Connecticut is one of those places that the more I visit, the more I love it! I’ll be there for a special photo shoot and staying at The Spicer Mansion. I can’t wait to check out this hotel and share the fun things we have planned this trip!
KENNEBUNKPORT | Back to Maine we go to share an inn right on the water and some of our favorite things to do and see in this idyllic coastal town. It’s one of our favorite New England places to visit in any season.
