Anchored in August

Hello, August! There is still plenty of summer left here in New England, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit it has flown by at warp speed this year! August is always bittersweet for me personally. It’s the last month of pure family time we get until school starts. This year, especially, there are so many unknowns with the school year. Will we start as planned? Will we have sports? I can’t dwell on it and I am going day by day with making plans at this point.

As far as August goes for travel around New England, it’s going to be a fun month. I have a couple of trips coming up soon to places that have been on my “must visit” list for a few years now.

So, with out further ado…

Here’s what’s on my radar for August…

T R A V E L

  • Essex, CT—Experience Essex Gal Pal Getaway hosted by The Griswold Inn & J. Alden

This was such an amazing Gal Pal Getaway to one of my favorite towns in all of Connecticut! There will be lots of posts coming up in the days ahead sharing all the details and the amazing experiences we enjoyed along the way.

  • Rockport, MA —A Stay in this Coastal Village at a Newly Remodeled Inn

I have been wanting to visit and explore Rockport for a few years now. The stars aligned and I will be spending a few days here in August. I’m excited to share my stay and all the lovely details of my accomodations with you.

  • Milford, CT—Exploring this Quaint Coastal Connecticut town

I’m joining a couple of friends for a day in Milford. I can’t wait to explore this part of the Connecticut coast and enjoy the company I’m with.

  • Bretton Woods, NH— A Luxury Mountain Resort in the White Mountains

My first New Hampshire trip that doesn’t involve basketball! I’ll be traveling with the family to enjoy a few days in this amazing part of New Hampshire. I’ll be taking you along for the experience at this iconic mountain resort in New England.

S T Y L E

  • A new take on classic New England fisherman sweaters made of recycled oyster shells and water bottles! Amazing!!!

  • Handmade nautical earrings by one of my favorite makers.

  • Brands I love to wear that make exploring New England stylish and comfortable will join me on my upcoming travels.

L I V I N G

  • Sharing a new kitchen and home brand with monogrammed goods.

  • Wild Blueberries of Maine and my favorite recipes to make with them.

I hope you are all staying safe in these COVID times. I am always in awe of how businesses have navigated these strange waters. Our stay in Essex was amazing and every place we visited there was on top of it!

I hate to admit that fall has been creeping into my mind a bit this week. I think it’s because I have to go buy school supplies soon. There’s still plenty of summer in August and September, but our trip to the White Mountains at the end of this month will probably intensify the autumn day dreams!

Until next time,
