Huttopia Southern Maine

We started off our September with a glamping adventure at Huttopia Southern Maine located in Sanford, Maine. Sanford is a short 20 minute drive from the coastal towns of Wells and Kennebunkport. Its location is perfect for coastal Maine lovers like ourselves.

We arrived at Huttopia Southern Maine after taking our time driving up the coast and stopping at lighthouses, our favorite lobster shacks, and shopping centers. As we drove through the pines, we were greeted with the Huttopia sign and turned down a wooded lane to our destination. We parked the Jeep and headed into the Reception Center for our 4pm check-in.

After getting our key, we loaded up our gear into wagons that Huttopia provides and brought our belongings to our tent site. We have never glamped before and were eager to see what our accommodations would be for our stay.

We stayed in The Trappeur Tent which is a safari style tent. I loved the aesthetic and once inside every comfort of home was awaiting us. The Trappeur has a full bathroom, a queen bed, twin over full bunk bed, a kitchen with sink, fridge, and crockery, dining table, clothing rack, food storage, and a heater for cooler nights. All linens are provided. This tent is also pet-friendly.

Outside our tent we had a picnic table, deck with an outdoor stove, chairs, and our own campfire site. Firewood and other necessities are available for purchase in the small market store in the Reception Center.

We spent that night around the campfire enjoying s’mores and campfire meals. We headed to our cozy beds and fell asleep to the night sounds all around us.

The next morning we wanted to check out the little pond on the property so we took canoes out with the kids. The weather was cooler and it was a great activity to do in the morning.

During the rest of our stay we took advantage of their heated pool, grabbed a bite at their restaurant, and played table tennis and hiked. It was good clean family fun.

We ended our last night around the campfire once again. Telling stories, making more s’mores, and watching shooting stars. It was a great family experience and got us in the mood for cooler nights and the fall season.

We’d like to thank Huttopia Southern Maine for our stay and first glamping experience. It was a beautiful setting and so much fun!

Until next time,
